Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST), named after great patriotic leader Jenab Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah (popularly known as Sher-e-Kashmir) was established in the year 1982 through an Act passed by the State Legislature in the 33rd year of the Republic of India with its jurisdiction over the entire State of Jammu and Kashmir with its headquarter at Shalimar, Srinagar.
